Oh hello summer!!
While we have a small swing set with a slide in our backyard, as well as an above ground pool, sometimes it’s just a lot more fun for the kids to go out and play with other kids they’re not related to. Plus.. well… one of the nearby parks got a massive upgrade from what it used to be. It now includes many play structures, two swing sets, a pretty decently sized splash pad, and an area that even Risi can enjoy! It’s perfect for helping us enjoy summer break! I just need to get myself to get the kids out and about to enjoy it more. Though with my ‘one hour minimum outside time’ rule. That wont be too hard!

Now that it’s summer and the temps are climbing like crazy (it’s going to be 108 F here on Sunday!!) getting out and having fun in the water is one of those things I’m glad we at least have the option for. Last week I took Lisi and Risiel to this newer park, and let them first play in the splash pad, which Lisi loved and Risi wasn’t so sure of, and then change into normal clothing to play on the regular parts of the playground.
The smaller kids area for ages 2-5 (Risi is the size of a 2 year old.. so.. I let her play, and I’ve seen younger kiddos there too..) includes musical instruments like the marimba type one you can see Risi playing above! The ones you see in the background? They’re drums!
There is free parking at the park as long as you’re going to be there two hours or less. Usually after about an hour and a half I’m at my limit of time spent in the presence of the public (my anxiety hardly even allows that sadly!) and the kids are sufficiently worn out!
I can’t wait to take the kids to spend some more time at the park so they can run out some energy and get to enjoy the lovely weather! We’ll be packing lots of water and perhaps some snacks next time of course!
Do you have a favorite community playground or school playground where you live that you’ll be enjoying this summer? I wish we had public pools here. The lake is usually busy with tourists this time of year… but at least we have this park so far!!

We only have 3 months of summer here in Boston, so we get outside as much as possible! My boys love it when I tell them we are going to the playground!
Water play is always so much fun during the summertime. A park is a great place to head to when the kids get bored at home and having friends along for the ride is even more fun.

I love seeing kids spending time in community playgrounds. Exercise is essential to their well being and helps build their muscles and strengthen their bones. In this day and time, when technology and gadgets are within arms reach, children lose interest in playing outdoors. I always encourage children to go out and play, make friends and have fun!

There used to be this park in my village that my girlfriends and I would frequent when we were little kids but they took it out now because someone was gonna build a house on the lot where the park used to be.
I think it’s great that kids get to spend time at park to experience the ‘great outdoors’. Getting some sunshine is healthy and so is playing outside 😀

What a fun playground! We have always had a small playground just around the corner from us that the kids have always enjoyed. But last summer, they added a huge climber, several smaller pieces of play equipment and (the best part) a splash pad. Now the kids love it even more!

We spend a lot of time at our local parks during the summer! Thankfully we have lots of really good ones around us. Your kids look like they are having a great time and getting all the wiggles out!

We have a couple of cute parks close to us. My kids used to like going there when they were little. I miss those days!

We live in Georgia, so the entire surrounding area is our playground. My kids love to get out and roam – when they’re not playing video games, of course. =P

Well our daughter is now 14 but we have a pool at home so we use it a lot. When she was much younger, we lived in NC and belonged to a pool club that had an awesome water slide and play (swing) area as well. So important for them to have outside time!
We are surrounded by quite a few playgrounds as well as outdoor landmarks for NYC including the Bronx Zoo and New York Botanical Garden! 🙂

Yes, we have a couple of playgrounds nearby. We usually go to the one at the local elementary school. Or there is one just beside the airport. And we also have a small one at our nearby Lake. So much fun!

We have a splash pad and park near us, but our kids are too big for what there is at that park. We have a big pool and a 2 level clubhouse at home, so we don’t leave the backyard much!

Oh I wish I was down in So.Cal like I was when I was younger. Warm weather pretty much always! I’m so done living up north!!
It is just so hot in FLorida we are hiding out in the shade! LOL When fall rolls around I will start going to the park again.

I can’t wait for summer to return as it is currently winter here! I love getting outdoors, being more active and being able to visit family and friends, especially going to the beach and feeling the warm sun on my skin!
I would love to be in Cal right now. Our summer here hasn’t been the best. But, we make the best of it and get out as much as we can!

We have a school playground close to where we live and I plan of taking the kiddo there, but the weather has not been cooperating. Maybe this weekend.

My kids love going to the playground especially the one with the splash pad. They love getting wet and playing with the other kids.
108 temps? Oh yeah I would need to stay in the water, this looks like a lot of fun with the kids. I absolutely love going to the pool in the summer with my family actually so these tips are helpful

Unfortunately we don’t have any nice playgrounds or pools around here. We do have a place to go swimming in a lake though.
We have a great Splash Pad not to far from my house. The kids all love it. It is a great way for them to stay cool.

I like to take my kids to a local community park which has so many different features. It’s clean and its big yet small enough for me to let my 4 kids enjoy.
