This is my first time really doing a subscription box to review. So I wasn’t really sure what to expect. I ended up with five items total, but had used one already before taking a picture with the box and items. Oops. :/

The Beauty Box 5 box costs $12 if you do monthly reoccurring payments, or right now you can spend $99 to get a full year and save yourself $46. This is a great little box if you’re looking to try new beauty products every month.

You can see four of the items in the picture above. The Clean & Clear facial moisturizer, Body Drench – Sugar Cane moisturizing lotion, OFRA plumper lip gloss, NYX eye shadow pallet in “Love in Rio” and the foot smoother photoed below.100_3009

Now, I did take before and after pictures of using the foot smoother. The cold weather always makes my feet get so awful! But after looking at them I didn’t want to share that on the internet. Eww. >.>

Here is what I though about the products included in my Beauty Box 5 box! I’ll rate them 1 – 5 with 1’s being the worst and 5’s being the best!

Every Beauty – Foot smoother: 4

I am sad to say it took a bit of work on the coarse side before using the fine side on this to get my feet to be nice like I like them. Overall this worked really well and didn’t really take forever and didn’t feel as uncomfortable as other products I’ve used on my feet before.

Body Drench – Sugar Cane lotion: 4

I used this after using the foot smoother! I liked the smell and it wasn’t overall too greasy of a lotion. Get for my feet and made my hands feel nice as well. I’m picky with lotions in both scent and feel and this one was nice enough to buy more of in the future!

NYX Eye Shadow – Love in Rio: 5

I love the colors here even if I am not 100% comfortable with posting a picture of me in them until I get better at my eye shadowing technique! Thankfully the colors went well with my green eyes and blue hair as long as I didn’t use too  much of the pink-shade.

Clean & Clear – Facial Moisturizer: 3.5

This is pretty standard as far as facial moisturizers go. Not really the best, not really the worst, a little better than average. I used this after using my face mask treatment. The smell was alright, and it did a fairly good job of moisturizing my face, but it’s not really something I’ll buy regularly as it didn’t moisturize as well as I’d hoped it would have.

OFRA Plumper Lip Gloss – Sultry: 1

This product had a pretty color, and sure did plump… but it did the plumping by BURNING and causing my lips to swell. I took this picture with it on while I noticed  slight tingle.

Then I went into the bank to do some business and the longer this product was on my lips, the more the tingling turned to a burning and I was starting to be agonizingly painful. I thought that somehow my lips were badly chapped before I put this on (they weren’t) and that it was just because of that.

But I had no choice, by the time I got back into the van I had to get it off. It was just TOO much to handle!

photo 2 Then of course I was left like this. Swollen and hurting and unhappy. My lips were sore and still burning for about an hour and a half afterwards despite washing them with soap and coating them with Vaseline in an attempt to sooth them.

Good color, bad burning sensation caused by the peppermint oil no doubt put in to help plump by causing this sort of reaction.

Ouch ouch ouch, NOPE!

Overall nice little products included in the Beauty Box 5  box, aside from the one. Obviously plumping glosses are just not for me if they all tend to do this sort of thing in order to give you plumping action.

Still, I don’t regret getting to try and experience all of the products. Even if one ended up just not for me.

Have you tried a Beauty Box 5 box yet?

  1. Except for Clean & Clear, I don’t think I’ve tried any of these brands before. I’ve used lip plumper before, and it definitely tingled to the point of almost hurting.
