These colored pencils are triangle shaped, but not in the way that gives them any sharp edges and makes them uncomfortable. To be honest, I was a little unsure of how I would manage with color pencils that are triangle shaped. More so because I tend to hold pencils “oddly” no matter how many people have tried to correct my habit to do so!!
I found these colored Pencils from Ariana’s Art very easy to hold and work with, and they didn’t feel at all awkward in my hand. Rounded colored pencils aren’t my favorite to hold, because I tend to feel like I am going to lose them and I hold them HARD. Resulting in a bit of pain.
Another great thing about the triangular shape of these colored pencils is the fact that they don’t roll away from you! I was able to quickly set them down to chase after Risi for a moment and they didn’t try and go rolling away. Color pencils break inside if dropped, so you need to be gentle with them. Trust me, I’ve used much more expensive brands they didn’t even make it through the mail because of them dropping and shatter inside on the color stick. Ugghh.
As someone who isn’t very sure yet with her colored pencils skills I am happy to have something artist quality to learn with, without worrying that I am going to screw up something with colored pencils that are insanely expensive. So for me these are perfect, now I wish I would have had them back when I was still in school because I once did a GIGANTIC piece in nothing but color pencils and it was insanely difficult due to the shape and trying to afford the fact that I went through a lot of color pencil for it. >.> Everyone else used oil or dry pastels.. I used colored pencils!
I am so thrilled with Ariana’s Art colored pencils that I plan to get them for any of the kids who want something better than Crayola brand pencils!
